Tola, Nero D’Avola Syrah
SYRAH NERO D’AVOLA
It is a wine able to evoke and give new life to the most ancient Oriental and sicilian scents and flavours, where the grape of Syrah has found the warm and breezy climate that brings out all its characteristics to levels of excellence.
The Syrah grapes are manually harvested, in boxes, during the last week of august; whereas the Nero d’Avola grapes during the second week of September. The pressed grapes macerate on the skins for 15-20 days at a controlled temperature. The wine begins its refinement in french oak barriques, where spends 12-14 months; then it passes into the bottle where it continues to refine for at least 12 months.
The result is a wine with an intense ruby red colour with violet reflections that reveals itself ample to the nose, with aromas of red fruits, hints of sweet spices and cocoa; the same scents are noted on the palate where it appears dense, warm, with a remarkable and elegant richness of tannins and a mentholated end.
Throughout the meal, it is ideal with red meats, very seasoned cheeses and smoked salamis; it perfectly goes with a Nebrodi black pork stew.
Recommended the service at a temperature of 18-20 C°.
