A great wine in honor of a great man, Bernardino Telesio, an illustrious naturalist philosopher from the Città dei Bruzi, who lived here in the 15th century.

This choice aims to emphasize the strategic and qualitative importance of the wine itself, excellence of the territory of origin, as was our famous fellow citizen, in the various fields of culture, science and philosophy.

Territory: Donnici is a village located south of Cosenza which identifies a wider hilly area between 400 and 600 meters. above sea level, bordered by the Crati and Savuto rivers, a land historically suited to the cultivation of vines;

Vines: typical of the area, such as Magliocco, Greco Nero and Malvasia;

Cultivation method: traditionally with sapling, average yield deliberately reduced to 70 quintals of grapes per hectare;

Harvest period: from mid to late October;

Vinification: soft pressing and long contact with the skins;

Fermentation: in steel at controlled temperatures;

Aging: first in steel for six months, then in second passage oak barrels for twelve months, finally six months in the bottle, to soften any sharp edges;


Color: deep ruby ​​red tending to garnet, following the natural and necessary

evolution in the bottle;

Bouquet: intense and persistent of red berried fruits, spicy hints of tobacco and vanilla, due to the judicious passage in oak barrels;

Taste: velvety, full-bodied, with great personality, soft, rightly tannic, an elegant but decisive wine;

Gastronomic combinations: it is a meditation wine, excellent when paired with meats cooked in casseroles for a long time such as stew, excellent with aged Crotone pecorino;

Serving temperature: 18-20 ° C. after oxygenation;

Alcohol Content: 13.5% vol.
